Euro Truck Simulator 2 is a truck simulator game developed and published by SCS Software for Microsoft Windows, Linux, and macOS. It was first released as an open beta on October 18, 2012. It is the second video game in the Truck Simulator series and a direct sequel to the 2008 game Euro Truck Simulator. The game is non-linear, with the core premise being that the player can drive one of a variety of articulated lorries across a condensed picture of Europe, picking up and delivering cargo from various locations. As the game develops, the player can purchase more vehicles and depots, as well as employ other drivers to work for them.The gamehas been soldover 9 million units as of March 2021, according to a press release by Renault Trucks.

'Euro Truck Simulator 2' is a truck driving simulator that also includes company management features. Jobs entail delivering deliveries as a hired driver while employed by a delivery firm, using a given vehicle and having all expenditures (fuel, road tolls, ferry crossings) paid. As the player earns money or obtains bank loans, they will be able to purchase a vehicle, build a home garage, and begin taking better-paying jobs by driving their own truck instead of being a driver for hire with equipment provided.

Money gained in the game may be used to upgrade or buy additional customisable trucks and ownable trailers, hire [[non-player character]] drivers to take on deliveries, and acquire more garages and expand them to accommodate more vehicles and drivers. The player's hired drivers' abilities improve with experience, and the player may develop a massive fleet of trucks, each with the possibility of having their own trailer, and drivers to operate the fleet, allowing the company to spread across Europe.

After each delivery, the player receives experience points. After each level, a skill point is rewarded. Skill points can be utilised to unlock multiple [[European Convention on the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road|ADR]] classes, longer distance deliveries, unique cargo loads, delicate cargo loads, urgent deliveries, and eco-driving. This advancement allows the player to take on higher-paying occupations. The base game includes 71 towns from twelve different nations, over twenty different types of cargo, and over fifteen imaginary European firms. There are seven map downloadable content (DLC) pieces that expand the game.
